Re: Trans-Allegheny Interstate 500 kV Line (TrAIL)
Honorable Joe Manchin, Senators (Use their names), Delegates (Use their names):
I understand that Allegheny Energy is considering constructing a new 500 kV transmission power line through northern West Virginia. I oppose construction of the 500 kV Line because:
It will cost approximately 1.3 billion, much of which will likely be paid for by West Virginia residents.
There does not appear to be a need for the line - for security, reliability, power demand, or any other reason.
Higher energy costs will deter business and industry from staying in, or moving to, West Virginia.
Thank you for your attention to this critical issue.
